Sheepy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 14, 2026 · Last updated: October 28, 2026
This policy explains what information Sheepy handles, how, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Sheepy iOS app and the website sheepyapp.com.
1. Who we are
Sheepy is operated by The Sad Times Consulting L.L.C-FZ, Meydan Grandstand, 6th Floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Contact: support@sheepyapp.com.
2. Screen Time information
With your permission, Sheepy uses Apple’s Screen Time, Family Controls, and Device Activity frameworks to block the apps, categories, and websites you choose and to track your progress against the limits you set. You approve this yourself with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Apple’s selection frameworks give Sheepy private tokens representing the apps, categories, and websites you choose, rather than an ordinary list of their names. Apple provides controls for displaying these selections. Detailed usage reports are prepared in Sheepy’s Device Activity report extension, which runs in Apple’s restricted reporting environment. Sheepy also records when usage passes configured thresholds and stores activity estimates on your device. Daily records and blocking history are included in your own iCloud backup, as explained in section 4.
We use Screen Time information only to provide Sheepy’s features. We never use it for advertising or advertising measurement, and never share it with data brokers. We do not send your Screen Time reports, selected apps, or blocking settings to RevenueCat or to any server we operate.
You can turn off Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings. Sheepy needs it to set up, and without it Sheepy can’t block apps or read your progress. If access stays off for more than an hour, or at all while a lock is on, Sheepy marks that day as unchecked in your calendar. Turning access off doesn’t delete your history.
3. Information stored on your device
To run its features, Sheepy stores on your device:
- your sheep’s name, appearance, mood, and progress;
- daily limits and sleep schedules;
- the apps, categories, and websites you selected (as Apple tokens);
- activity estimates and calendar history;
- blocking attempts and temporary access history;
- coins, room decorations, and room layout;
- tutorial progress, notification preferences, and app settings;
- your cached subscription status; and
- local technical logs used for troubleshooting.
Sheepy also reads Apple’s Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) and keeps a local Screen Time permission marker containing it. This helps distinguish permission changes from a device restore. This marker is not included in Sheepy’s explicit iCloud key-value backup. RevenueCat’s separate use of IDFV is explained in section 5.
Local information remains until it is replaced, cleared by the app’s controls, or removed when you delete the app. Erase Everything resets your sheep and progress, but some installation markers, troubleshooting logs, or SDK-managed records can remain. Some information is saved to your own iCloud as described below. Local data may also be included in device backups (iCloud Backup or computer backups) under your own backup settings; Erase Everything doesn’t remove older backups. Your sheep’s mood and health are game mechanics, not health measurements.
4. iCloud backup
Sheepy uses Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to back up and restore settings and game progress: your sheep’s name, daily limits, sleep schedule, coins, room decorations, room layout, tutorial progress, and restore information. This includes daily records with activity estimates and mood, calendar history, blocking attempts, and temporary access history. Restore information includes installation and reset markers that help Sheepy preserve progress across reinstalls.
Your selected apps, categories, and websites (Apple tokens), detailed Screen Time reports, and location are not included in Sheepy’s iCloud key-value backup. Device backups are separate and follow your own backup settings.
This backup is stored in your iCloud account and managed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. The current app does not give Sheepy’s team a way to remotely retrieve your private backup. Apple provides its storage and security protections; see Apple’s iCloud data security overview for details. It syncs according to your iCloud settings, and turning iCloud off for Sheepy does not delete what was already backed up.
5. Sheepy Premium and RevenueCat
Sheepy Premium is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never see your card details or Apple Account password.
We use RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) to check your subscription status and unlock Premium. RevenueCat’s software in Sheepy sends information automatically when Sheepy opens and when you buy or restore a purchase:
- a random customer ID created and stored by RevenueCat. It does not contain your name or email, but it can associate subscription activity with a customer or installation. Reinstalling can create a new ID, and purchases or restores can associate customer records according to RevenueCat’s restore behavior;
- purchase and transaction details: product, transaction IDs, dates, expiry, price, currency, and App Store country;
- technical and connection information, including IP address, app version, iOS version, device model, language settings, Apple’s Identifier for Vendor (IDFV), and your App Tracking Transparency setting. Different requests can contain different information.
RevenueCat’s SDK includes available IDFV in its API request headers. This is separate from saving IDFV as a customer attribute. Sheepy does not call RevenueCat’s device-identifier collection method or manually set an IDFV customer attribute. We do not use IDFV for advertising or enable advertising-attribution integrations in the app.
RevenueCat SDK 5.93.0 defaults optional SDK diagnostics to disabled, and Sheepy does not explicitly enable them in its app configuration. RevenueCat can also control this optional telemetry through remote SDK settings. Subscription reporting in RevenueCat’s dashboard is separate from optional SDK diagnostics.
We may look at subscription records in RevenueCat’s dashboard to fix purchase problems and answer support requests, and we use RevenueCat’s reports on purchases, renewals, cancellations, and trials to understand how Sheepy Premium is doing. These reports are not used for advertising. More at RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
We do not send your Screen Time information, selected apps, sheep’s name, or location to RevenueCat.
6. Optional location (sunlight feature)
If you turn on the sunlight feature, Sheepy asks for your location to work out local sunrise and sunset for your sheep’s room. This is done on your device. Sheepy rounds latitude and longitude to two decimal places (roughly one kilometre of latitude) before saving them, together with the time of the reading. The saved reading remains until a newer reading replaces it or Sheepy detects that location permission has been turned off. If you allow only approximate location, iOS limits the precision of the location it provides.
Sunlight coordinates are not sent to RevenueCat or to Sheepy-operated servers, and are not included in Sheepy’s iCloud key-value backup. Device backups may include them under your own backup settings. If you decline location permission, Sheepy uses clock-based lighting instead.
7. Notifications and animations
Reminders and alerts are local notifications scheduled on your device. We don’t use a push notification server. Animations use Rive, with all animation files built into the app; nothing is downloaded from Rive. The Lock Screen timer is a Live Activity that Sheepy starts and updates on your device, without a push server.
8. Crash reports and Apple analytics
Apple may provide crash reports and app analytics through its developer services, subject to Apple’s settings and privacy practices. Some reports depend on your choice to share analytics with app developers. Apple also provides App Store sales and subscription reports. See Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.
If you test Sheepy through TestFlight, Apple may share crash information and feedback with us under its TestFlight terms and privacy practices. Feedback can include screenshots, device and app details, and your name or email where Apple makes these available. Sheepy’s own troubleshooting logs are stored locally and are not automatically uploaded to Sheepy-operated servers; you can choose to send logs or screenshots to support.
9. Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, whatever you write, and anything you attach (for example screenshots or logs you choose to send). Our email is provided by Google Workspace. We use this information to handle your request and related follow-up, subject to the retention and privacy-request information in sections 14 and 16. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or information that is not needed for your request.
10. Our website
sheepyapp.com is served through Cloudflare, which acts as our processor and handles standard connection data such as IP address, and may set strictly necessary security cookies, to deliver and protect the site. Fonts and media are served from our website.
The website also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page visits and loading performance. Its browser script reports page-view and performance metrics to Cloudflare. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or local storage for analytics, fingerprint visitors, or track individuals across websites. We do not use advertising cookies or use these metrics for advertising. Read more about Cloudflare Web Analytics and its data collection.
11. No ads, no cross-site tracking, no selling
Sheepy is supported by subscriptions, not advertising. We do not show third-party ads, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use any of your information for advertising. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
We don’t allow other parties to collect personal information about your activity over time and across other websites or apps through Sheepy or sheepyapp.com. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals; our restrictions on advertising and cross-site tracking apply regardless of that setting. The website analytics described above do not change based on that signal.
We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
12. Why we use your information (legal bases)
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide the Sheepy features you ask for and Sheepy Premium, including Screen Time blocking, the sunlight feature, and subscription checks through RevenueCat. iOS permission prompts control whether Sheepy can access Screen Time and location.
- Consent: for notifications. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings. Withdrawing doesn’t affect what happened before.
- Legitimate interests: to understand subscription and website performance, deliver and protect the website, fix problems, prevent fraud, and answer support requests.
- Legal obligation: to keep financial records required by tax law.
You can turn off Screen Time, location, and notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Sheepy needs Screen Time access to set up. After setup it keeps working if you turn any of these off, but the corresponding blocking, tracking, sunlight, or reminder features won’t.
13. Service providers and international transfers
We are based in the United Arab Emirates. We use the following service providers for the purposes described in this policy, under the terms and data-protection arrangements applicable to those services:
- RevenueCat (United States): subscription management
- Google Workspace (global): support email
- Cloudflare (global): website delivery, security, and web analytics
Apple processes App Store payments, iCloud, and Screen Time under its own privacy policy as an independent company.
These services may process information in the United States and other countries outside your country of residence. Where applicable law requires an international-transfer mechanism, the mechanism depends on the provider, the countries involved, and the applicable agreement. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your information. This policy does not mean every provider or transfer is covered by the same agreement or certification.
14. How long we keep information
- Data on your device: Until replaced, cleared by the app’s controls, or removed when you delete the app. Some markers, logs, or SDK-managed records can remain after an in-app reset.
- iCloud backup: Until corresponding backup entries are removed through Sheepy or available Apple controls, subject to synchronization delays. Installation-related markers can remain after Erase Everything.
- Rounded location: Until replaced by a newer reading or Sheepy detects that permission is turned off
- Apple and RevenueCat subscription records: Maintained for subscription administration, transaction history, support, fraud prevention, and applicable legal requirements, according to the providers’ retention practices. An app reset does not delete these records.
- Support correspondence: For handling and following up on the request, subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements. Contact us to request deletion.
- Website connection and analytics information: Handled by Cloudflare according to the services used, their configuration, and applicable retention terms.
- Tax and accounting records, including sales reports: For the recordkeeping periods required by the laws applicable to those records.
There is no automatic deletion deadline tied to the date a subscription expires. Privacy requests are handled as described in section 16; some records may need to be retained where applicable law permits or requires it.
15. Managing and deleting your information
- Permissions: turn Screen Time, location, and notifications on or off in iOS Settings.
- Log Out (reset): Sheepy’s “Log Out” option resets Sheepy on this device. There is no account. It saves some progress to your iCloud backup first, clears your selections and progress, turns off blocks and schedules, and removes pending notifications. It doesn’t cancel Premium or sign you out of your Apple Account.
- Erase Everything: resets your local sheep, settings, progress, selections, and saved activity history, and requests removal of corresponding Sheepy backup entries from iCloud. Some installation-related markers, local troubleshooting logs, and SDK-managed records can remain. iCloud can take time to sync deletion, and older device backups are not affected.
- Subscription records: Erase Everything does not delete Apple’s or RevenueCat’s records. To request deletion of your RevenueCat record, email support@sheepyapp.com. We may ask for the order or transaction reference from your App Store receipt to locate the right purchase and verify the request. Please do not send payment card details or your Apple Account password. Continued use of Sheepy can cause a RevenueCat customer record to be created or repopulated when the app checks or restores subscriptions.
- Cancelling Premium: manage it in your Apple Account subscriptions. Deleting Sheepy or your RevenueCat record doesn’t cancel it.
16. Your rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Email support@sheepyapp.com to make a request. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant records, without collecting unnecessary information.
We respond within the deadlines required by applicable law. Where GDPR applies, this is generally one month, with an extension of up to two further months for complex or numerous requests where permitted; we will explain an applicable extension. A right to deletion is not a promise that every record can be erased immediately. We will explain relevant legal exceptions. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
17. Security
Data on your device is protected by iOS security, and your iCloud backup by Apple’s standard iCloud security. We limit access to RevenueCat and support email to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the information we hold to a minimum.
18. Children
Sheepy is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not currently ask for or verify your age, and does not require a name or email address to use it. Technical identifiers and subscription information are still processed as described above. The App Store’s age rating is separate from this intended-audience statement.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Sheepy, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action. Rules about children’s information and parental consent vary by country; a 13+ statement does not replace those requirements.
19. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Where required, we will give additional notice of material changes through an appropriate channel. Updating the website does not automatically update the policy bundled in an already-installed app.
